Brown’s iBall Combine Returns To Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – Former Villanova basketball star and Pottstown native Howard Brown is returning home to the borough June 25-26 (2016; Saturday and Sunday) with his full-service sports player management, marketing and consulting firm, International Ball Players United LLP, to conduct its second annual “iBall” Pro Combine.

The two-day event at Pottstown Senior High School, 750 N. Washington St., features some of the nation’s top free agents as they compete in front of NBA, WNBA and FIBA scouts for possible playing contracts at the U.S. and international professional basketball level, according to a press release.

Brown’s company considers the combine an effective and efficient tool to capture scouts’ attention in a controlled setting.

Howard, who was a successful player at Villanova and among the small number of players to break the 1,000-point mark, faced an uncertain future after graduation. That’s when he pursued a career overseas and became a valuable player internationally. After 13 successful years playing abroad, he decided to retire and start his firm.

From action-packed, tournament-style games and world-class drills, to intensive speed and athletic tests, the combine demonstrates what it takes to play at the professional level. The event is open to invited male and female players.

Howard believes in giving back to Pottstown, so the event also has a strong focus on involving the community. His company’s Healthy Families Initiative was launched in 2015 to promote health, wellness, and unity of area families and the community. This year’s combine will award more than $1,000 to local charities and 100 youths participating in its Healthy Families Basketball Clinic.
